Deanna Fei didn’t want a person. She was in her 20s, residing in Shanghai on a Fulbright scholarship, writing her first novel: a e-book about fiercely unbiased Chinese language girls, very very like Deanna herself.

Rising up as a first-generation Chinese language American, Deanna resented the best way some males, particularly white males, seemed down on her. She refused to be anybody’s fetish. By the point she arrived in Shanghai, she had sworn off courting white males all collectively.

However then, Deanna met a person: an older, profitable white man, who provided to offer for her as she pursued her goals. Was Deanna betraying herself, as soon as she began falling in love with him?
